Also remember that, aside from the lightning bolt, every item in the game can be repelled somehow red and green shells can be blocked with towed items, POW blocks can be negated by being airborne or doing a stunt on the third hit, blue shells can be avoided by a boost pad or last-second mushroom, etc.The bottom line, though, is that Mario kart is not a game for people obsessed with hitting the best lines and finishing first every time. I'm sure that the people who brought Mario Kart Wii (more than the PS3 GTA4) all have the "N is god" mindset. Yep, and item combos can get infuriating, but this game involves a hell of a lot of skill, and overall, unless you are brand new, you will either overcome the obstacles or make up for them through using items yourself.quote:If your not stuck on the "N is god" mindset of most Wii owners I don't see the point of buying a game like mario kart, where you can pretty much expect the same thing that every other mario kart game was. Sell it to someone who will actually use it and have fun rather than bitch and not bother figuring it out.*edit:quote:Things are pretty chaotic. The local and remote multiplayer features are excellent in my, and many, many other players opinions.quote:Do I have a right to my $50 back or are there any actual redeeming qualities to this game? You opened it, so no, you can't return it. I agree that some multiplayer options are missing that should be available, but to say that what it has now is laughable is a complete joke. I'd get more enjoyment out of the old SNES kart than this pile of ****. It never dreamed of being a good racing game.

Well, if you don't take the minimal time required to read the fucking manual or get used to the game, what do you expect?quote:This game sucks.

quote: I don't have one good thing to say about it. Interesting, considering you can change the 'Rules' and remove AI, or change the competency. quote:Local multiplayer is crap because you can't tune the gameplay or turn off the AI's.

I personally have no problems whatsoever. Well then, maybe you should be practicing? Doesn't a more difficult game offer more replayability? My non-gaming fiancee had no problem whatsoever with 50cc, took a few tries to figure out bikes for 100cc, and can usually place in the top 3 for 150cc after getting a handle for the tracks. Getting 1st is only a matter of whether the computer graciously decides to let me win. quote:Single player is pure BS because of the phoned in AI.
